IMAGES ARE MEMORY KEEPERS
I feel so strongly that Images are Memory Keepers, that every Ginger Snaps Back Photography portrait client receives at least one professionally printed image with a paid session. A printed photograph is so important for remembering the essence of someone, and images that capture a personality in a unique way are what Ginger Snaps Back Photography delivers. This was driven home when visiting David's father. David was my daughter's first serious boyfriend, and although they broke up, they were amicable. David passed away in a car accident in August 2016. I took my daughter to visit his father, and his dad showed us many photos and items he has to remember his son. He pointed to a photo that they had printed on large canvas. He choked up and said, "This is how I remember David. That is David, it's my favorite photo of him." His dad was not aware that I had taken the photo. This is why I do what I do. I am so grateful that I was able to capture the essence of David and his family was able to have it printed before the image disappeared into the digital abyss. Reflecting on this heart-wrenching moment with a grieving father, I decided that all Ginger Snaps Portrait Packages would include prints.
Immerse yourself in the heart of imagination with Ginger Snaps Back Photography. Whether in the studio, or on location, we will work to make you comfortable and bring out the best in you. Expect an email or phone call to discuss what you are hoping to express in your portraits. This gives us the opportunity to get to know you and individualize your photographs. Bring your favorite outfits, and we'll bring ours!
A photographer's body of work doesn't have to be large to determine if they are right for you. Is it consistent enough for you? Experimental enough? Too experimental? The photographer's body of work shows their evolving style and what they are capable of doing for you!
Are you looking for images that are created over those that appear to be simply captured? A combination of both? Are you looking to be styled for a themed shoot? Are you looking for dramatic lighting or natural light? There are many types of photography and all are beautiful! Do a little research if you are unsure then chat with your photographer of choice before booking.
Does your photographer have the experience needed to capture your family? Newborns? Twins? Family members with special needs? Don't hesitate to ask your potential photographer questions to determine their experience level for yourself or your family's needs.
Photography nowadays is more than a fancy camera and lens. It's knowing how to manipulate the equipment into doing what you want to see. There are times to under expose, over expose, use additional light, or take away light. The skill to properly capture and manipulate light is just the beginning but oh so important. Refer back to the photographer's body of work. Regardless of style, is the work lit well? Is it composed well? Does the coloring make sense? Does it look finished or does it look more like a snapshot?
Are you seeing personailty in the individuals in the photographer's work? Whether it appears quiet and contemplative or boisterous and exuberant, do you see it? The photographer that is right for you will get your personality and be able to highlight it in your images.
Capturing the important stages of your life is fun! In addition, displaying children and family images has been shown to boost children's self esteem and comfort. It feels like a luxory, but a photo session and prints are an investment for your family's future. Does the photographer offer the products you want and need? Is there a way to pay that fits your budget? Ginger Snaps Back Photography will work with you to develop a payment plan that works for you to ensure you get the products you desire.
